Here is a Nigerian music legend that was born to an Itam father and an Ikot Adaidem mother, all of Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria; sometime in the sixties. Maxwell Udoh's mother who hailed from a musical family was a sister to Comrade Patrick Udoh of "The Doves Rock Band" fame.

She died unfortunately early leaving her tender-aged son Maxwell in the care of one of her sisters. Maxwell's stepmom then took him to the Cameroons where he grew up and had his education. This accounted for his fluency in speaking French.
After a long sojourn in the Cameroons, Maxwell returned to his home country, Nigeria, to become the lead Vocalist of "The Doves Rock Band" which had become very popular in the West African Sub-Region.
The Band was involved in an auto crash that claimed the life of its Cameroonian-born Singer, Lawrence, whose hit single, THE SKY, shot the Band to limelight in the 70s. At the demise of Lawrence, Sloans, a deeply smooth baritone singer took over the band and released another hit single BABY COME WITH ME. Tragedy struck again and the fans of the Band were thrown into mourning as Sloans passed on unexpectedly.
This was when Maxwell became lead singer of the musical group. His hit single WHENEVER YOU SEE ME COME AROUND, took the nation by the storm and up till date many musical bands still perform the song at social gatherings.
Maxwell went solo after a while and recorded for AVERAGE RECORD LABEL based in Umuahia, Abia State. King George Emah introduced Maxwell Udoh to a friend, Mr. Clement Ebri (later became Governor of Cross River State) in Calabar, who shot his first music video.
Maxwell Udoh progressively became known as Rasman Maxwell Udoh though he did not grow dreadlocks.
He recorded hit after hit and waxed great until he became really famous. He put together and owned his own musical band. Quite unfortunately in 2016 Rasman Maxwell Udoh lost his life to the cold hands of death.
